Mental Health Care for English Speakers in BA and Argentina
Individual Therapy. Couples Counseling.
Office in Palermo, Buenos Aires. In person and Online.
Welcome!
If you're seeking mental health care in Buenos Aires, or anywhere in Argentina, I am here to help. I'm an Argentine-American licensed psychologist helping English speakers in the region. I am available for in-person sessions in Palermo, BA or vía Zoom.
Areas of Expertise
I specialize in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Trauma
- Phobias
- Addictive behaviors
- Other distressing and impairing conditions
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, focusing on building resources for wellbeing and personal growth.
Counseling for Life Challenges and Growth
Beyond mental health issues, I also support individuals facing specific challenges or seeking personal growth. Living abroad presents unique challenges and opportunities for personal development. Whether you’re dealing with stress, adapting to life in Argentina, or looking to grow, I offer informed and sensitive care to help you navigate these experiences.
Couples Therapy
I work with couples, including many bicultural partnerships, to help participants understand each other’s experiences, recognize needs and desires, and build a supportive relationship. Drawing from my own bicultural background, I provide a unique perspective on cultural issues within relationships.
Professional Background
Trained in both the US and Argentina, I adopt an integrative approach that combines effective techniques from various psychological schools, social sciences, and change approaches. Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked in hospitals, research, and educational settings, including NY-Presbyterian Hospital, the Research Foundation, CCHE-Columbia University, and the Morrison Center in Portland, OR.
Commitment to Care
Therapy is most effective when clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. I am committed to providing quality care and maintaining high standards of privacy and confidentiality. As an ally to all forms of diversity—cultural, ethnic, sexual, religious, and lifestyle—I strive to create a welcoming environment where you can discuss anything important to you.
Contact Information
If you have any questions or wish to schedule a consultation, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to talk and meet in a no-cost initial consultation.
Sincerely,
Alejandro
